Jesus says "all authority in heaven and earth has been given to Him" (Matthew 28:18). Here, in John 5, Jesus tells the religious leaders that He and the Father are one in will and action and that He has authority to give LIFE and JUDGEMENT. More, Jesus tells them that the bond between the Father and Son is Love.
What doe we do with this? How do we live trusting in His authority and resting in His love?
“My deepest awareness of myself is that I am deeply loved by Jesus Christ and I have done nothing to earn it or deserve it.” “Define yourself radically as one beloved by God. This is the true self. Every other identity is illusion.”- Brennan Manning
May we trust in His authority- allowing Him to speak into and guide EVERYTHING in our lives- resting and trusting that HE LOVES US.
