Jephthah‘s Vow and God‘s Will_Judges_Oct 17

Child sacrifice and treating the Lord like a vending machine!? Judges has many harsh stories…

 

Then the Spirit of the LORD came on Jephthah. He crossed Gilead and Manasseh, passed through Mizpah of Gilead, and from there he advanced against the Ammonites. And Jephthah made a vow to the LORD: 'If you give the Ammonites into my hands, whatever comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return in triumph from the Ammonites will be the LORD's, and I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering.' -Judges 11:29-31

No sooner had Gideon died than the Israelites again prostituted themselves to the Baals. They set up Baal-Berith as their god and did not remember the LORD their God, who had rescued them from the hands of all their enemies on every side. -Judges 8:33-34

When we are weak, He is strong... What does this mean?

Glory of Obedience_Judes_Sep 19

Tent pegs through a dude’s head!? The story of Deborah and Barak is certainly intense- as it should be- and it has something to tell us about humbly listening and obeying the Lord, and about the great value of women.
